    Padang Bay

    Padang bay is a small town in Bali, Indonesia that serves as a ferry port for boats to Lombok. It is located next to a small bay which offers beaches and shelter for the currents of the Lombok strait. In the south of the Amuk bay, Padang bay lies and it is certainly a good place for scuba diving and snorkeling.

    Its highlights are the sharks, variety of small to large fishes namely cuttlefish, scorpion fish, pelagic creatures, the crocodile fish at the Blue Lagoon, and Tepekong’s canyon and wall.

    Two of the most popular dive sites in Padang Bay are called the Blue Lagoon and Tanjung Sari.

    The Blue Lagoon lies around the corner of Padang bay which is protected and shallow. It is an easy dive site and there you can see a patchy reef of scattered staghorn corals and hydroids. It also has a gentle white sand slope and very good marine life. There are creatures such as stonefish, eels and octopus.

    Tanjung Sari, on the other hand, offers the most unique dive among all dive sites. There is a distinct population of sharks known as nurse sharks, cat sharks, reef sharks and wobbegongs. This site is also famous because of night diving.

    Minimum depth: 10 meters or 33 feet
    Maximum depth: 40 meters or 131 feet
    Condition: Zero to strong current, unpredictable
